Hot Foil Stamped Coffee Bags & Pouches

A heated die presses your logo — in one metallic or matte foil colour — straight onto bags from our stock range. It’s the lowest-commitment way into custom branding: from 1,000 units, around 3 weeks’ production, priced by the size of the stamp. And on a natural kraft bag, few finishes look better.

Most custom packaging suppliers make you enquire before they’ll tell you a minimum. Ours are published — hot foil stamping is our lowest factory-print minimum, and the pricing logic is simple enough to fit on one line: the bigger the stamp, the more it costs.

// How Hot Foil Stamping Works

Heat, pressure and a ribbon of foil

Hot foil stamping is one of the oldest finishing techniques in print — the same process that puts gold lettering on hardback books. No ink is involved at all: the colour comes from a foil film, bonded to the bag by a heated metal die.

01

Your mark becomes a metal die

Your logo or wordmark is made into a raised metal die — a physical stamp of the design. The die’s size is what drives the price, which is why hot stamping rewards compact, confident marks.

02

Foil sits between die and bag

A ribbon of stamping foil — a carrier film coated with the colour layer — is positioned between the heated die and the bag surface. Foils come in metallic, matt metallic and matt colours; our team can provide the full list of colours available.

03

Heat and pressure transfer the colour

The die presses down, and where its raised surface meets the bag, heat and pressure bond the foil’s colour layer to the material. Everywhere else, the foil stays on the carrier. The result is a crisp, clean-edged mark with a slight pressed quality you can catch in the light.

04

Applied to bags from our stock range

Stamps go onto proven stock bags rather than a from-scratch production run — that’s why the minimum is 1,000 units and production only takes around 3 weeks. Hot stamping works best on kraft; it’s not available on our recyclable or compostable ranges.

// Strengths & Trade-Offs

An honest fit-check

Hot stamping is deliberately simple — one colour, one mark, a clean bag around it. If your branding is too, it’s the smartest way in.

Choose hot foil stamping when…
You want clean, minimal single-colour branding — a logo or a short phrase
You’re ordering 1,000–2,000 units — below the digital minimum
You love the kraft look — a pressed foil mark on natural kraft is the classic premium finish
You want a metallic finish that ordinary ink printing can’t reproduce
You plan to pair the mark with a product label — the clean bag leaves room for it
Consider another method when…

Your artwork needs full colour, gradients or photography.

// Cost Dynamics

Why hot stamping prices by the stamp

The die is the cost driver

The main variable in a hot stamp job is the physical die — and dies are priced by area. A compact logo costs less to stamp than a large panel-filling design, so the price of your job tracks the size of your mark, not the complexity of a print run.

Stock bags keep the base cost low

Because the stamp is applied to bags from our existing stock range, you’re not paying for a bespoke bag to be engineered and produced from scratch — you’re paying for a proven bag plus a precise finishing step.

One colour, honestly stated

Each stamp carries one foil colour. If your branding needs more, that’s not a reason to force it — it’s a reason to look at digital printing instead. We’ll tell you which side of that line your artwork sits on.

// Artwork & Proofing

Checked in-house before anything is stamped

A stamp is a physical object — so the artwork check happens before the die is made, not after.

01

Artwork on our cutter guides

We supply the cutter guide for your chosen stock bag; your designer places the mark on it so the stamp lands exactly where you want it on the panel.

02

In-house designer check

Our in-house designer checks the file and works with your designer daily on adjustments — line weights, sizing, positioning — until it’s ready to make the die. We don’t design from scratch.

03

Free digital proof

A digital proof is included with every order — you’ll see the mark on your bag before anything is stamped.

04

Printed proof on demand

Printed proofs are available on demand at an extra cost if you want to hold the finish in your hands first.
